Session 1: Wednesdays, June 24-J uly 22, 1:30- 4:30pm Building Lasting Friendship Skills Jesus called us to love one another. Learning the qualities of friendship and how to be a loving friend takes time and practice. Come explore the qualities that go into creating solid, healthy friendships. We’ll look at the qualities of a good friend, learning to be inclusive rather than exclusive, how to say “no” to risky behavior, values, listening, the art of questioning, conversation openers, conflict management, and much more. Session 2: Wed. Mornings, July 28- Aug. 26, 8am- Noon Teens vs. Parents The myth of the perfect family can lead to disappointment, frustration, and anger. There is no perfect family. But many teenagers struggle with expectations and authority from their parents. In these sessions we will look at practical and Biblical instruction to help repair and build healthy relationships between teens and parents. Discover better ways for understanding, communication and forgiveness. Session 3: Wed. Afternoons, July 28- Aug. 26, 1:30- 5:30 PM Heros Using popular movies we will look at heroes - both real and imaginary. What lessons can we learn from them and from their actions? We’ll examine what a hero is, what qualities define a hero in our eyes and in God’s eyes, and look at the every day heroes in our lives. Videos we will watch include “Superman Returns”, “Amazing Grace”, “Gridiron Gang”, and others. All classes will be led by our Confirmation Coordinator, Anita Rundquist. Ms. Rundquist has 14 years of experience leading Confirmation and Youth Groups in Minnesota and California. |
