| Starting with the foundation of "Love God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind" (Luke 10.27), DTBD was created to help build a 21st Century faith. A real opportunity of a rich faith: Dream. Think. Be. Do. |
a note from pastor ken: Coming: Wednesdays at 6 PM Starting September 30th Christianity involves a colorful and invigorating faith/life journey - it involves dreaming, thinking, being and doing in a way that changes all of life. Chances are, you've seen Christianity portrayed as imposing small morals, creating simple answers before your question has even come into focus, a way to exclude some of God's own children, etc. The creators of Dream. Think. Be. Do. gathered over 25 of the most interesting and thoughtful theologians of our time. Briefly, this is eye opening material that helps everyone see why Christianity is a vital force in our world now. Each session includes a 20 minute video presentation and a time of discussion from our reading and viewing. A full list of video presenters is available in the foyer. DREAM 1. Faith as Journey 2. Stories of Creation 3. Reconciliation 4. Jesus 5. Risk THINK 1. Thinking Theologically 2. Taking the Bible Seriously 3. Evil & Suffering 4. Violence 5. Rapture & Revelation BE 1. A Kingdom without Walls 2. God’s Vision 3. Prayer 4. Creativity 5. Mystery DO 1. Incarnation 2. Compassion 3. Politics 4. Passion (Paul) 5. Resurrection Who is Welcome? This is for anyone who loves to enter more deeply into the journey of faith and life. There is no need for previous Bible knowledge. I have questions that I have never mentioned to anyone before: Your questions are welcome - there is never pressure to agree with the Pastor or others in the discussions. Every person has their own relationship with God, and therefore their own perspectives. We are enriched by one another's thoughts and their questions. Do I have to be Lutheran? No! The printed materials and the video segments come from many different Christian backgrounds. The variety of backgrounds of each speaker adds great color and a richer insights for us all. Do I have to be a church member? No - these resources are life changing and I would love to share them with anyone who is interested. Besides, we worship a God that has little interest in membership, but whose heart aches for each person becoming fully the person they were created to be - this material opens many new doors to a genuine journey of faith and new life.
